Learn the fundamentals of pattern drafting using one of the most feared & loved projects: corsets. Everyone will leave the workshop with a custom pattern for a corset in the style they choose.
You and your lab partner (bring your own, or a make a new friend) will help each other complete a measurement chart and we'll discuss choosing a corset that suits your shape. Then, we'll learn the fundamentals of basic pattern drafting using one of the most feared and loved projects: corsets. Everyone will leave the workshop with a custom pattern for a corset in the style they choose (underbust, traditional Victorian, or Elizabethan/flat-front). We won’t have enough time to make a corset from beginning to end, but we will discuss supplies in depth, and demonstrate the machine- and hand-stitching techniques you’ll need to complete your project.
