Louisville, Ky, present day. As you and your friends wait for the largest fireworks show this evening to begin, suddenly you hear a great explosion. When the monsters show up, you investigate.
Adventurers are as common as they've ever been. Most big cities have been cleared of random monsters and are run by powerful organizations, some good some evil. However, the vast land that stretches between cities is overrun with creatures, bandits, and anything else looking for a fight. Usually that's where you spend your time, but today is special. You've been looking forward to Thunder Over Louisville, an air show put on by flying beast tamers, followed by a fireworks spectacular. As you walk down the waterfront, catching up with your friends and having a good time, suddenly you hear an explosion behind you, coming from The Great Lawn. As you rush to get back, you spot creatures running through the parks, attacking people. Do you stay and help these people first, or do you run straight for the explosion?
