It all starts with a killing. Our erstwhile heroes are brought out of a very lucrative and comfortable retirement, filled with book deals, speaking engagements, and private lessons. Under normal circumstances the city council would have called upon the current City Protector Party. Unfortunately they are the dead ones. What is more shocking than who murdered our apprentices is the strange religion the murderers belonged to, which is sweeping the land and threatening to launch a Dark Age of terror, torture and truffles.
