The year is 1871. A Baltimore area gearsmith has announced the exhibition of his new automaton. The party is well-attended both by those who are curious to see his new invention and those who are simply eager to be seen at such an event. Unfortunately, the evening takes a very different turn when the exhibition becomes the scene of a foul and mysterious crime!
