In the early 20th century a new ballroom dance swept the nation: the Peabody! Not widely known outside ballroom experts, this is one of the most fun dances you'll ever learn!
What the heck is Peabody? In the early 20th century a new ballroom dance swept the nation. This fast-paced ballroom dance, similar to foxtrot but based on up-tempo ragtime music, became a quick hit. Nowadays it's not widely known outside ballroom experts, but is one of the most fun dances you'll ever learn! Instructor Alex Jacobs was the first Peabody certified dance teacher in the history of the USISTD, the oldest and most prestigious ballroom dance organization in the United States. In this combined history lesson and dance class he will take you through the evolution of Peabody from the early days of the one-step to the Castle Walk and concluding with genuine Peabody.
